When I expect no change, I really do try to stop. In fact, I even try to stop now before I GET to the point where you realize there will be no change.

There are issues that are based on belief- and those issues may look like they stem from being "uninformed" but what they really stem from is a different belief system. (imo). Hey- I used to do exactly what you do- and I think I did it because I didn't realize there would be no change. When I finally really really got it, I stopped. But that's me. Everyone is different, and that's no value judgment.
