It sure seems that anyone who dares to do anything that offends the sensibilities of the extremist right is immediately painted as anti-American.

Its an effective strategy and the right are very good at the game of politics. I am in awe of how low they stooped to slime Kerry. Somehow they managed to turn the cheerleading, likely drug abusing war avoider into the tough guy and decorated hero into the wimp.

But it does seem to offend basic common sense - what would be so patriotic about an out of control military? How would that benefit the long term interests of the US?
