The only good news these day is coming out of Ukraine

Why do you think the Ukranians should be able to protest what appears to be rigged elections, but the Iraqis shouldn't even be provided with the opportunity to hold elections?

You seem to have me mixed up with the Iraqi Sunnis and Kurds. I do not object to Iraq having elections. I think they may be hard to pull off since the country seems to be in upheaval but I am not opposed to them in principle.

In any case, there is a big difference between the Ukrainians and the Iraqis. The Ukrainians vehemently want democracy and are willing to challenge the current administration and Moscow to get it. The Iraqis seem to want democracy only if its served to them on a silver platter by us and so long as their special interests remain intact.

If you don't approve of the coalition's invasion of Iraq, what was/is your proposed action (or inaction) to liberate the Iraqi people from Saddam?

The Iraqi people did not want to be liberated. They simply wanted Saddam gone.

At this point, I don't care what happens to Iraq. Rarely does something good come from a mistake of this proportion.
