OK, sorry for the confusion (but if you'd gone to my original post, you'd have seen I was discussing the trade deficits).

The phrase 'manufacturing exports' was taken from your REPLY to one of my trade deficit posts... and I failed to notice that you had changed the subject to just ONE SIDE of the ledger, instead of staying with the topic I was discussing.

I should have inserted the word 'NET' before your phrase, to make it clear what I was talking about, but it slipped past me.
