If we call ALL marriages gay marriage then yes, it does. If we call marriage "marriage"- and let people decide if they want gay or straight than no. However, if all marriage is "straight" then yes, we have marginalized a lot of people. And of course I don't like that. Actually, winter solstice long predates Christianity, and was some sort of holiday (presumably) to druids and others- so perhaps we should call it winter solstice break, if we're doing the naming on historical precedent. Wasn't Christ's putative birthday moved around to better mesh with the Pagan festivals, in order to appease the converted Pagans?
