"The fact is that it was a public post, to which a number of those who responded negatively were banned from posting here.
By Grainne."

This is simply untrue, Poet. I don't want to reopen any wounds, but must take exception to your statement because it challenges my basic integrity.

You and I disagree on this point, Grainne.
I am not challenging your integrity but your judgements at times. Did you not ban Ben Wobbles for posting his opinion that Vang was psychotic? IMO, "namecalling" is the calling of names by one poster directly or indirectly to another.

The fact remains that you made, IMO, an extraordinarily offensive post about our troops and, after having been called out it by a number of people, responded by booting some of them from this thread. When the argument continued elsewhere-- in your name-- and it was pointed out to you (by me) that it was going on--again in your name-- your decision to dismiss it was, IMO, irresponsible.

All this is my opinion, not of your character, but of a few of your decisions on SI recently. I've been willing to chalk them up as due to years-long absence from SI, which I think has changed significantly since you've been gone, but it disappoints me that you appear to be unwilling to learn about the current community dynamics and that part you have played in them.
