1:35 PM Heavy Call Buying on CV Therapeutics

CV Therapeutics (NASDAQ: CVTX) is a development-stage company specializing in small-molecule drugs to treat chronic cardiovascular diseases. The company's at-the-money April 22.50 call (UXC DX) has traded more than 2,000 contracts, with nearly 1,600 of those contracts crossing on the Pacific Exchange. This volume executed as several large and small block trades that crossed the tape between 10:49 and 11:15 a.m. eastern time. The trades went off near the ask price at 3.50 and 3.60, suggesting they were purchases. With open interest of just 338 contracts, this could have been the initiation of a bullish long call position. CVTX was trading near 21.20 at the time of the option trades.
