Hi Mephisto,
We had only a brief lay over in Auckland so we didn't see anything. But friends that have visited there just loved it and I have a geologist friend who lived there for a couple of years and they really enjoyed their stay.
We have a "dry" cold here so it doesn't seem as cold as in a more humid climate. "One of the coldest winters I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco" . No, just kidding, stealin Mark Twain's famous quote, :). What I was going to say one of the "coldest" winters I ever felt was in North Carolina, That humid cold with freezing rain, slushy snow, overcast, etc bites to the bone.
On to movies, you might look for "Finding Neverland" near you. <g>.. We really like it.. Also on the way home yesterday, we rented "Somethings Got to Give" with Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton, 6 months or a year or so old. I told you we were streaky with movies so we have some catching up to do... <g>.. You have probably seen it but if not, it's fun..
