I acknowledged the confusion about the "psychotic" reference in this post:

I misread the post in question. I thought the poster was referring to my ideas about hunters and the hunted. It was very late, and I had read about a hundred posts, many of which were very hostile. The poster in question violated the Feelies rules by using a vulgarity as well, so it is kind of a moot point.

I am unclear as to why you think this so important, Poet. I'm beginning to think that it is to obscure the points I made in the post I wrote to you earlier this evening, which I don't believe you've addressed. You seem to believe that it is unacceptable for me to post observations or opinions that you do not share:

"I've gone back through the past week or so of your posts and cannot yet find the post in which you said you understand friends who feel that the re-election of Bush-- and knowing that many of the votes for Bush were from the Armed Forces-- was so disappointing to them that they now consider the active Armed Forces serving in Iraq to be essentially on their own and undeserving of emotional support from the citizenry."

This is a point of view that I have heard expressed several times since the election. It may not be your point of view, but I think it is worth exploring. You can certainly disagree--everyone is free to disagree--but I don't believe that it is specifically your role here to "call me on" my posts, or anyone else's, for that matter, and especially not to bring them up repeatedly. I am not sure why you feel that it is.

I am also continually puzzled by your references to Graystone. You don't seem to be able to understand that he is an individual expressing his own opinions--someone I don't even know. Your repeated request that I somehow silence him is incomprehensible to me, and totally out of bounds.

But to get to the core of the what is going wrong here, it is your repeated assertion that I ban people essentially because they disagree with my opinions. As I said before, this questions my basic integrity, and that is a personal attack and character assassination. (It would be the same if you attacked any Feelies poster in this way.) My integrity is extremely important to me. I warned you in my last post to you that this was unacceptable according to the Feelies thread rules. Now you have two choices. You can admit that your charge is untrue, or I will ban you even though I do really like your poetry, generally appreciate bright and honest people, and don't like to ban anyone.

I'll give you 24 hours to mull this over, but by that time I will expect you to retract your allegations.
