Clarification of soil sampling program
Starpoint Goldfields Inc STS Shares issued 6,444,175 Aug 28 close $0.28 Fri 29 Aug 97 News Release Mr Harry Bristman reports Further to news in Stockwatch August 26 1997, the following is submitted for clarification. The release stated a soil sampling program had been carried out on a portion of one or more of the three gold concessions and "gold grades of less than 1 g/t were indicated". This should have read "gold grades of less than 1 g/t were realized", indicating higher values at depth. Over 360,000 ounces of gold were mined by a Belgian mining company from these concessions prior to 1960 when gold was economic at $35.00 per ounce and ceased when the former Belgian Congo was granted independence. Reports of high grade gold ore on these properties are common in the country and artisanal miners continue to work the area. From the mining records related to this production, the data available, and information obtained from local and government geologists, Starpoint believes these concessions have the potential to become major gold properties. Starpoint is, and will continue to be, a company driven to acquire and put into production, precious metal and diamond properties. Starpoint's focus has not changed and the occurrence of other economic minerals will add to the stated goals. Starpoint anticipates releasing an overview of all its properties next week along with any property activities that may have been received.
