I haven't commented on Mayor Daly's son joining the Army. It is getting an enormous amount of attention. Seems that 12 years ago he was in the news for embarrassing the hell out of his Dad by throwing a wild party at his house when he was 17. Then when Dad got him an appointment to West Point he blew out in his plebe year. But he has done well since, and Daddy won't be able to help him in Iraq or Afghanistan. I wish him well. Not that his Dad needs the help, but it sure won't hurt him in Chicago. An interesting side bar is that the Mayor is involved in restructuring the Chicago schools. He is setting up one of the new small High Schools as a Military Academy. This has brought out all the Chicago pacifists who are objecting to this "brainwashing."
