Asking for information regarding PM's is bad form- that is why they are called "private messages." The problem is, you asked Grainne about a communcation to her that you imagined I had made- a private communication. The only person you legitmately could have asked to satisfy your curiosity(imo) would be me, and even then it would be quite rude (again, my opinion.)

Obviously your idea of what is private is different from mine- but they aren't called private messages for nothing. And your desire for things to be "transparent" doesn't make private messages any less private.
