KRAUSE, tkrause@tampatrib.com TAMPA -Debra LaFave, a teacher accused of having sex with a 14-year-old male student, is expected to use an insanity defense at her trial in the spring, her attorney said Tuesday. Attorney John Fitzgibbons said in a hearing before Judge Wayne Timmerman that two doctors have evaluated LaFave, 24, over the past several months. They also have examined medical records that date back several years, he said. ``Debbie has some profound emotional issues that are not her fault,'' Fitzgibbons said after the hearing. ``I think that once anyone reads what the doctors have to say, they will understand a lot more about what went on.''
