Steve on the FOOL responds to your airline post Chispas...

Any bets there is a quid pro quo by American sharply cutting back in Atlanta?

Both airlines will still manage to lose money.

229 Delta Pilots Retire Ahead of Pay Cut

ATLANTA, Dec 01, 2004 (AP Online via COMTEX) -- Another 229 Delta Air Lines Inc. pilots have retired, locking in their retirement benefits ahead of a 32.5 percent pay cut scheduled to go into effect Wednesday, according to union officials at the struggling airline.

These are senior pilots between ages 50 and 60. Any bets that they will all be replaced at less than half their pay by Canadair RJ pilots from Delta's Comair feeder?

And Delta will still lose money.
