Two-hundred bucks and you would still have an old monitor. IMHO you made a wise move and thankfully you got a good solid used one -- they say electronics usually die within thirty days if they are going to fail -- if not, they go forever.

From what I read, Sony must share their tube with NEC and Lacie -- there is mention of the Triton tube (sp??) in their literature. Do you have the two lines running thru the screen that are mentioned? If so, do they annoy you? They say it keeps the screen cooler and maintains horizontal-vertical alignment???

I would love a 22-inch monitor -- but the bank would have to extend a home equity loan for a 22-inch NEC or Lacie.

I notice that the Lacie calibration system and software will probably work on your screen -- not sure however. Check out their FAQ section.
