Let's not get the jfred problem CB, where words morph all over the place and mean anything and everything. jfred went in a moment from logic to some undefined God, which usually includes praying for a new TV or some other benefit, such as victory over Osama and his less impressive God.
dictionary.reference.com
<Atheism is illogical. It's impossible to prove that God does not exist. If you don't believe in God then the logical position is agnosticism. >
I see that dictionary.com includes immorality in the atheist definition. I certainly don't subscribe to that idea and on the contrary think that atheists need to be more moral than Christians who still hung over can get absolution next day at confession. Christians can live a life of sin and still get eternal life. We atheists have to do things right all the time.
But leaving that minor part of the definition aside, atheism is a more accurate reflection of my views. I can't prove that you don't have a green elephant in your back yard. It's simply outside my realm. Neither can I prove that Schrodinger's cat is dead without peering inside the box. But I can consider them both unlikely to be true and that I should conduct my life according to what I know to be true rather than on the basis of random guesswork, especially when the guesswork is based on some obvious lies from other people who I have no reason whatsoever to think have any more idea on what's going on than I do.
Similarly, I'm not able to prove the presence of some human-loving supernatural deity, but would be able to if I came up with evidence. I'm not holding my breath. On the contrary, I'm betting that humans are just another primate. That theory fits best with the things which people do. Why invent some absurd imaginary spook to explain things when there are perfectly simple explanations which fit the facts.
I dare say I disagree with lots of things those blokes said if I knew what they've said: <it's illogical to be hostile to Christ, unless you are also hostile to Plato, Aristotle, Confucius, and Lao Tse, which I don't think you are.>
I haven't come across anyone who I always agree with, including me. I change my mind frequently. So I doubt that those guys, from ages ago, would have it all buttoned down.
Isn't it odd that they are all blokes? Where are the sheilas with the great ideas? Male answer syndrome at work.
