Searle, you say that "gold is functioning only as a dollar hedge". But today it took a whacking down, and looks very weak in the near term, while the dollar looks even weaker. Unless of course you believe that the dollar will strengthen soon, and gold is just ahead of that curve. But the long term, doesn't look especially inspiring for the dollar in my eyes (through my glasses) <g> .

Btw: Looking at the very big picture, I find the following article expresses some important trends, and I find arguing against these assertions and facts difficult. It was a fascinating read for me in any case, and I invite your comments.
