I'll have to disagree. Since there were no weapons of mass destruction, since there was no real threat to the US (at least from Iraq), since Al Qaeda was not in league with Saddam, there was no real reason for the war. The regime change of another nation is not within the purview of the US. That is why we had to say there was a threat (because nations are supposed to go to war to defend themselves - HA)- even though, of course, that threat was imagined by us (or fabricated for us by our government).

No, I don't think going to war for imagined reasons is a good idea. I will never think that. And no matter how this war turns out, the basis for it was wrong, and (imo) violated international law. I agree with Kofi on that one. One nation can't go around disposing of other countries leaders just because it thinks it has noble reasons for doing so.
