I think we should reflect on what was the cause for the greatness of the US post WWII. What we have in the making is the US on a downward cycle. This Bush may have succeeded in ecking out a victory in the "red states" or better still the "red counties". I wonder what sort of a reception Bush will get eveb in some areas of the US leave aside the reception he gets when he visits overseas.

He can go and bend over backwards to get the Canadians to roll out a red carpet for him. Instead all he got was a wal of armored police between him and the Canadian people. very reminiscent of Hitler.

With one master stroke, Osama has succeeded in getting this country down a path of self destruction. The religious fanaticism of the Al Qaeda has spread its wings in the US as evidenced by the poll results. Al Qaeda consists of people willing to sacrifice for their religious faith. The US has those religious fanatics who are willing to trade the common good of humankind for their religious beliefs. One is Muslim the other is Christioan. The only thing common between them is that both are religious beliefs.
