I didn't forget Abu Grahib. As in any industry or profession you're going to have some bad seeds that do things that we don't approve of on a societal basis. It happens in our prison systems and most recently we have a case where a teacher took advantage of a 14 year old boy. Now forget the fact that I envy that 14 year old boy <g> it's still an abuse and a violation that most people don't approve of.

Both examples you cite took place after 9/11, the WTC bombings in 93, embassy bombings and the USS cole. At some point we have to get over this "bad America" syndrome and quit being so accepting of attacks from people an nations. It's almost as if we believe that since we're a powerful nation that it legitimizes any F*cked up thing someone or some nation wants to do to us. That, my friend, just isn't going to fly. Were some of our responses uncivilized? Perhaps. But we didn't ask for the above mentioned attacks - those were put upon us. For that reason I feel damn little pity for the people who maybe haven't been treated fairly because ours was a response to the ultimate in unfair. Tell the orphaned kids or the people who lost wives, husbands and relatives that 9/11 was fair because the US is powerful and wealthy and was deserving of that attack and see the response you get.
