I don't actually enjoy Prairie Home Companion, except for Lake Woebegone Tales. The music is not to my taste, and the jokes are not funny to me. But I do try to tune in to the Lake Woebegone monologue, which I do enjoy.

Typically, it comes on at the bottom of the second hour, frequently after a Guy Noir episode, or one of the cowboy episodes. I will turn the show off and on if I am in the car until the monologue starts, despite the fact that my husband and the boys complain loudly. Nick will try to turn it off if he is sitting in the front, and I have to slap his hand! He is 6'3" but I still win those fights.

The fact that Garrison Keillor is a big liberal and hates George W. Bush does not bother me in the least. It's a free country.
