Treasury's Snow: Strong dollar foundation of policy
WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) -- Treasury Secretary John Snow on Friday repeated that a strong dollar is the "foundation" of U.S. currency policy, but also emphasized that currency rates should be set by the foreign exchange market. In an interview with CNBC, Snow said "greater currency flexibility" and stronger economic growth in foreign markets were also important. Snow refused to answer questions about whether he would remain in the Treasury post in President Bush's second term, saying that "any discussion of that nature has to be between the president and myself."
