Don't you believe in second chances? I don't for crimes of violence. I believe that anyone who takes a life or attempts to take one has forfeited the right to live free in our society. One strike and yer out! The law does recognize the different degrees of such crimes based on the circumstances, and I think that is appropriate. I don't believe anyone's criminal records should ever be expunged for any reason, not even juveniles. Everything you write in your book of life you should be prepared to stand by and be accountable for. I favor the death penalty because it is the only appropriate punishment for heinous crimes, such as Scott Peterson. To do less, I feel, devalues the worth of the innocent lives taken. That is my story, and I'm sticking with it.
