TE,

I know! IN about 2050, all the Japanese will be dead, the Nikkei will still be at 10,000 and the Yen will be at 50.

In Switzerland the national industry will become printing money (all other industries no longer competitive, including banking).

In all seriousness, I think that over time (just as the USD devaluation took time) the reality of Switzerland and the fact that the Franc is backed by much less gold now, will hit home and take the shine off.

As for Japan, I don't think economically they can survive a US recession triggering a Chinese slowdown and high Yen.

Zero or negative interest rates are great from PMs, though. Why hold Yen when there is a negative interest rate when you can hold gold? IMO, this will be the ultimate devaluation.
