Is anyone out there following IVDS? Supposedly the IVDS spectrum can do automated meter reading with much lower cost and much higher quality. It is a licensed spectrum so it can be utilized by only licensees.Licenses have been issued but companies have not been building out. Why does ITRON not use IVDS? It would seem that ITRON would be the one moving this forward. If it gets developed will it be a competitive threat that will put ITRON out of business as others have cheaper buildout and better quality data? Any thoughts???
