re: Technical insolvency occurs when an entity's liabilities (booked, or unbooked) exceed the FMV of its assets. This is the case with SS, but not with the United States.

You are kidding, right? The free market value of SS? Come on man, what's the free market value of, say, homeland security? You are so full of crap.

re; A FINANCIAL ENTITY (e.g., Social Security) that is technically insolvent has a major problem. Because if it can't grow the financial assets at a rate faster than it spends, it ultimately will be "totally insolvent" (as opposed to technical insolvency).

The solutions are so simple.

1. Raise FICA a bit, maybe 10%
2. Figure a formula that splits the difference between inflation and wage appreciation for COL adjustments.
3. Eliminate the cap on FICA taxes, currently at $80K.
4. Eliminate benefit for those with more than $100K in income.

The end result would be a HUGE surplus; enough to bury the cost of several wars.

re: I would encourage you to study up on this subject. It does affect your future and that of any offspring you may have.

I would encourage you to understand this subject. And have a bit of compassion. It's not complicated, if you actually want a solution.
