It's a solution but I don't see a problem. Why is it a problem to have the thread names left unchanged. If one wants to add a ticker that's a separate issue. If adding a visible ticker is redundant then why not hide the ticker instead of messing with the header. It should be up to the thread originator to make changes to the header.

Here is a board where the ticker is used in the heading. Subject 53690
What is the new name going to be for that thread?

Some others:
Subject 5203
Subject 8831
Subject 54896

What's the new name for the following thread going to be?
Subject 20637
Will TSIG.com TIGI (formerly TSIG)
change to: .com (formerly) or TSIG.com (formerly). (That's a joke...an exaggerated non problem)

What's the problem that needs to be resolved? It doesn't seem to be caused by the title, it is caused by adding tickers (pre-pending) to all the titles.

I say prepend the ticker and if people want to change the title of active threads then let them, otherwise leave the original titles for historical reasons.

Hey ... all this as just my opinion.
