I think your point, as I understood it, had something to do with scoffing at the idea that God and man have some sort of special relationship ("human-loving supernatural deity"). As far as I know (I came in at the middle of the argument) nobody here was asserting that God and man had some sort of special relationship.
All I am saying is that even if there is no reason to believe that God is a "human-loving supernatural deity", so what?
The universe exists. Which may, or may not, mean that at one point in the past it did not exist, and at some point in the future, it may cease to exist.
Where did it come from? Where is it going? And why?
I find these questions interesting. But not worth arguing about. My favorite way to discuss them is at a quiet murmur, sitting in the twilight, without turning on the lamps, with someone else who finds the questions and answers amusing, and the activity itself entertaining. |
