Both extremes on this issue need to get a grip, IMO.

I simply do not recall creches in the public square when I was younger, and I grew up in Catholic South Louisiana (Baton Rouge and New Orleans) with trips to visit the folks in Biloxi, Mississippi.

I certainly remember seeing creches on private church property.

For that matter, I don't recall seeing the Ten Commandments in public squares, either.

I assume that the experience of others is different.
