re: I don't think it is cynical, especially now. Given the debt we are piling up, we are facing an inflation scenario of Weimar Republic proportions. Ain't no way that SS or savings will be able to keep up.

You don't think that is cynical? Folks have been paying in all their lives, every paycheck, week after week after week. Folks that can't always put enough food on the table.

SS CAN KEEP UP. It HAS TO keep up. It's a social contract, it's what confidence in government is all about. Otherwise, just give it up... if the US of A can't meet it's obligations to it's own citizens, that it's citizens have paid for up front... then we are really in trouble. Then they are stealing us blind.
