You're sort of right. If Saddam and Osama were such big threats they could have been easily knocked out from the inside, an operative in the right place and a few bullets would have done the trick. Unfortunately that type of thinking won't keep the munitions factories manufacturing shiny new bombs and delivery systems or inflate the price of oil from double what it was a few years back. Empowered by the religious right and an elections sweep there is no telling how much goodness might be spread over the world in the next four years.
