Thanks, Don. I have seen that picture before but, as I said, I was under the impression that the whole central column matrix was embedded in concrete.
I have to say those are excellent pictures, in fact, awe-inspiring -- until one considers the enormity of the crime that had been committed in order to make them. Actually, I don't think in my whole life I have deliberately looked at pictures of anything as much as I have studied those of the WTC on 9-11.
Coming back to the columns, or rather what was left of them, this satellite picture of the site shows exactly how they were smashed up into into a myriad of small pieces with none of the thirty-eight, four-inch steel central columns remaining standing. The whole building was obliterated.

Indeed. I wonder if you have any idea of the kind of explosives, or whatever, that could have been used to turn thirty-eight, thousand plus feet long, four-inch thick, steel frames into, effectively, "mashed-potato"? One thing is certain, gravity alone could not do that. |
