By admitting it was on an egalitarian basis rather than on the principles of any religion...you confirm his (and my) point.

Show me one religion that does not scripturally judge people on inequitable bases such as race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, birth rank, and other such prejudices?

So if the framers believed that people were born equal and enjoyed equal rights and freedoms....it had nothing to do with the beliefs of Moses, Joshua, or Jesus! ;-)
