United States Marine Corps Facility Selects Multiband to Provide DIRECTV Services; Company Expects Camp Pendleton to Install Up to 27,000 Units
NEW HOPE, Minn., Dec 2, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Multiband (NASDAQ: MBND), a provider of voice, data and video systems and services to business and government clients, announced today that it has been selected by the Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) located at Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, in Southern California, to install DIRECTV services. Installation of DIRECTV, which is a service provided by The DIRECTV Group Inc. (NYSE: DTV), will made available for all of Camp Pendleton's Barracks (BEQ's) base wide. Subscriber activations are set to begin on December 9th. The system is provided by World Wide Satellite Inc., a leading Southern California-based provider of satellite services.
Camp Pendleton has approximately 177 barracks, each with the capacity to house between 44 to 500 personnel per barrack. The project will begin by registering five of the barracks, with installations to the other barracks increasing over time.
