We are in fundamental agreement on this (pun intended :-)!

However (we always seem to have these), to an evangelical a secular person wrapped up in 'Xmas' may be historically Christian, but they do not embody the ideal. We need to respect these people in the same way that we respect other cultures.

As a modern Catholic, I feel I am religious and Christian, but can separate the religious and secular celebration involving Rudolph and Santa Clause (notice how the use of a foreign language hides the word 'Saint'). Not all Christian sects (or even Catholics) can do this, and I do not think less of them for it. The joy of America is being able to be different.

Maybe I would think otherwise if (like the Jihadi's) the evangelicals took their stricter interpretation and started killing those they believed to be apostate....
