Perhaps a realistic view. There is little in recent history to suggest optimism for Iraq as a single entity. Why should America spend it's blood and treasure in a dubious attempt to keep Iraq whole?

That would be a last last resort. It would basically be saying that people of different backgrounds cannot live together. A very pessimistic view IMO.
