Concerning your getting logged out when you go to a link.....

1. When you login to SI put a check in "keep me logged in" box.

2. When you want to go to a link in a message, hold down the shift key when you click the link so that it will open in a new window.

3. You can also right click on the link and choose "open in new window" from the list that opens.
