For US Jews, I think the issue historically was more of government protection from domestic threats than support for Israel. The Democrats were seen as protecting minorities, so it got their votes.

Things are changing, dramatically. Not just for Jews, but for blacks, hispanics, and other minorities.

The democrats' pandering to minorities as their protectors, only to make them subservient and beholden to the party without embracing them as equals, is coming to an end. It was just another form of racism, and minorities are catching on.

George Bush has done more for racial equality in 4 years than the Democrats did since the '60's. His appointments have been widespread, meaningful, and genuine. What Democrat could you point to with his record?
