The only way to save Apple is wide open standard. Motorola has handed them one of the fastest CPU's and Apple should hopefully respond with Rhapsody. Timing is critical here. I'd like to see Rhapsody succeed and take a chunk out of win95/winnt market.

I also saw somewhere in the web (can't remember) an article saying Gateway was going to be the #1 education market seller of PC's after Apple. I'm not sure if this is true but Dataquest's figures don't support this. However, come September if numbers do prove Gateway is #1, this will fundamentally damage Apple I think.

I think Apple should also clone their notebook in order to expand availability, choice and lower costs. They've got some great CPU's to work with but I think consumers would be better serviced if they had more choices (something Apple does not seem to agree)
