Krugman is superb at finance. He went to MIT PhD in economics and is excellent. Very astute individual. Krugman is well known by economists and he is deeply respected, albeit he can be a bit of a shrill sometimes. But Krugman is blocked from accessing SSA economists and they have been told that if they talk to him they will get fired. Krugman only has permission to speak to the spokesperson of SSA, so Krugman is out of touch with the real situation. The spokesperson white polishes it to Bush's tune. Further, Krugman got his figure from CBO which is an office filled with Bush cronies that white polish our economy. Krugman needs to find a way to reach the SSA economists off record (if he can convince them to speak to him), and then he needs to sound the alarm rather than minimizing this situation. It is very appropriate for Krugman to attack the tax cuts, absolutely, but it is very inappropriate and a complete diservice for Krugman to white polish the SS problem. Paul does a great diservice to his comrads and econimic peers in SSA that greatly respect him. Regards, Amy J
