Further, Krugman got his figure from CBO which is an office filled with Bush cronies that white polish our economy.

Amy, I don't think the CBO is filled with bush cronies at all.

It is very appropriate for Krugman to attack the tax cuts, absolutely, but it is very inappropriate and a complete diservice for Krugman to white polish the SS problem.

Paul's piece is not a dissertation Amy. I see it more as intended to draw general contrasts with policies of the time. In your quick dismissal, and call for privatization, you are in a way falling into the same pitfall. The start up costs of private accounts are staggering. Adding to the national debt is a serious matter and one that will be dealt with by your generation (if I may make some general assumptions about your age). You can deal with SS or you will deal with staggering national debt (well, a couple more republican administration like this one and you will deal with both). Indeed, we may have to deal with the effects of national debt sooner, through rising interest rates, falling currency valuations, and the effect on our economic future. Or we can choose to fund the fund (sic), stop living beyond our means TODAY, return to more progressive tax rates, and quit borrowing from ourselves. Choose your poison.
