The Christmas tree was introduced during the War of the Revolution by the Hessian soldiers who later founded communities of "Pennsylvania Dutch".

Lots of Pennsylvania Dutch fought on the American side, too. One of my ancestors and his three brothers, less than a decade after moving to Pennsylvania from Germany.
