Everything in SAf now is politics, especially the politics of enriching blacks. One of the methods being employed, as per ANC-inspired laws, is that all businesses must sell a portion (15-50%) of their capital to a "black economic empowerment" partner, whether the "partner" has funds to buy that equity or not. So all kinds of financing deals are being made. It struck me that a reason why the government is encouraging the strong rand is actually to depress the price of export oriented businesses and for this reason. Today, in SA, and in this way, they have created, maybe, twenty, thirty, enormously rich blacks, I'm talking multi-billionaires, one can call them oligarchs, similar to those in Russia. Although these are not involved in government, they are "well connected".

That's why they chose Miss Amerika (AKA Ms Rice) to be the new Sec of State. Besides being W's pin-up doll, she's an alleged Sovietologist.
