CB,

Christians vs. Christians was a big killer until relatively recently.

Yes if we go back a few centuries we can find the Crusades, the Reformation, the counter-Reformation, the Inquisition and other fun escapades. But lets get real - we have gotten over this - the Middle East hasn't.

We now kill for politics (socialism, communism, Nazi'ism etc).

Comparing some holier-than-thou Evangelicals to Jihadi extremists is over-the-top. To put it in perspective Liberals are more holier-than-thou and have pushed policies inciting more violence than the Christian right (were talking since 1960). The weather underground, the sla, the environmental terror groups etc are all outgrowths of liberal extremism and have killed more than the Christian far right.

Can't we all agree that extremism that promotes violence is wrong - period. Why do we take such PC care to separate the Jihadi's from regular Muslims, but (because we have a distaste for the righteous right) were ok with disparaging all Evangelicals?

Tying extremism only to religion is to provide some sick moral equivalence for the Jihadi's. We have had what? 5 or 6 murders in the past 20 years from the Christian nutcases, 20 or 30 from far-left nutcases, but we were at more than a few thousand from the Jihadi's (even before 9/11).

Lets have some perspective.

John
