I don't think so. Pa was thick with Germans and they were all moving west. I got relatives who were pushing into Ohio about that time. What "English" were going to "move in" during or after the Revolution?? Your relative was recruited simply cause warm bodies were needed to settle an empty land, and since there were so many German-Americans around, he would fit right in.
