There's a difference between King, a private citizen, speaking about religion in the public square, and governments using coerced taxes to set up religious displays in the public square.

I don't see why that's so hard to comprehend.

Private display of religion = protected by First Amendment.

Government display of religion = violation of First Amendment.

See how easy that is?
