I meant that the gold chart would look very different in "constant" dollars. Let's say, measured in 1980 dollars, the 2001 low would have been much deeper, and the consequent rally would look much less impressive.

I shorted NEM at the overshoot of an ED, at 49 and change. If the ED is real, it may have a few more points to go. Did it to hedge some longs - GFI, GG, some others.

Is this the large "C" down? I have no problem answering this question: I don't know. If the dollar surprises on the upside, I suppose we'd see a big decline in gold. And the sentiment on the buck is dirt.
