This past summer I had a flash of inspiration. I went out to my front deck railing, facing a pleasant street scene and beyond that the Deschutes River and I started driving a series of nails in a large circle. Then I dug out the white mini-lights from my Christmas decoration kit and I started winding them around the nails, and vertically, and for good measure added a couple of down-sloping chevrons. When I was done, I was very proud of my illuminated peace symbol.

Remember George Herbert Walker Bush talking about "a thousand points of light"? Well, I got 'em. :)
