True, karen, BUT, have you heard of a single sect of "fundamentalist Christians" killing, murdering, raping, 500,000 to millions of people in the last century? Have you heard of any of these groups beheading people?
While I might not appreciate Falwell, Robertson, et al, I sure as heck don't appreciate OBL and his ilk either.
There is one further thing that needs to be explored IMO. ANY MSM who uses the term "right wing anything", or "fundamentalist Christians" should be held to task to account for exactly which groups they are including in these terms, and how many people they believe is in each.
MSM and many of the atheists have said these words for many years (think Madelyn O'Hare) and NO one has even thought to see how many of these folks there are. Or are not.
No....controversy just sells papers, and TV time. Who cares about facts.
I don't have any issue with Christians. I don't have any issues with Muslims, either. It's fundamentalist authoritarianism that's incompatible with "peace on earth good will towards men." |
