In regards to the strategy of buying stocks to capture the dividend,I attempted this and discovered my broker was making most of the money!The commissions were killing me and this is with a discount broker.I am considering swapping my dividend paying stocks into my RRSP to capture the dividend and swapping them back into my trading account soon after x dividend.The fee is $45 each way. Assuming the dividend in question is $1,000 total can you advise me if Revenue Canada would allow this and will the tax saved make it worth it?
